Mark is a Consultant in Anaesthetics & Critical Care in the North West of England. He has been involved in prehospital care for the last 30 years and currently responds as the Medical Director of Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service and on Helimed 29 Air ambulance. He is currently an NHS Clinical Director in Medical Care, which includes Critical Care, Cardiology and Respiratory Medicine and he led his team from the front, through the Covid pandemic, winning numerous awards and featuring on Sky News on numerous occasions as a leading unit in the UK.

Mark is the Medical Director for 6 Police Forces and 2 Fire & Rescue Services. He has broad experience in many areas including Tactical Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, Adult, Paediatric & ECMO retrieval and advanced resuscitation, but his key passion has always been trauma. He founded the ATACC (Anaesthesia, Trauma & Critical Care) course over 20 years ago and it has developed a worldwide reputation for it's ground-breaking simulation and as a training experience. ATACC has now grown into The ATACC Group and is a UK leading provider of First Aid through to advanced casualty care training for the emergency services and high-risk industry. His tactical medicine experience extends over 15 years training specialist military medics and currently over 50,000 police officers, including firearms, counter-terrorism and public order medics. This has included a number of large-scale simulations in Germany, Ireland, Australia and Sweden.

Mark is hugely passionate about high-quality immersive simulation, which he believes needs more time and planning rather than just money. He has authored and produced a broad range of courses, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons, London and he has just been established as the President of the new Trauma & Critical Care Fellowship Council.
