James is a Medical Doctor based in Victoria, Australia. He has both a professional and personal interest in human performance at extremes of the environment. In 2016 he successfully submitted Mt Everest following over a decade of climbing around the world. He has also participated in multiple ultramarathons and is a keen endurance athlete. From a professional perspective he holds degrees in Engineering and Medicine and enjoys the interface between the two areas. In early 2020 he completed the Fellowship of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) and is a senior trainee in Anaesthesia. Enabling people to understand how their body responds to extremes and how to manage these profound physiological challenges is an area is a passionate about.
